TRMS, the system has been designed and developed for the management of Traffic regulations of Traffic Police pertaining to a city which can be expanded to other cities of state. The system is modular in nature for ease in future up gradation and maintenance. The system has been designed to handle valuable and sensitive data and has incorporated number of security features.

The objective of automating the Traffic Police force is to maintain the details pertaining to various functions of the Traffic Police. The System shall provide varied information and reports to the higher officials as and when required. The main objective of the automation shall be to integrate and network the system with state of the art hardware and application software for Police force to access and use the Information in their day-to-day duties.

• Provide desktop PC’s and printers to various offices of traffic including traffic divisional offices.
• Bulk EntryProvide handheld computer with built-in printer to the field force for issuing on the-spot ticket
• Provide GPRS connectivity for accessing info from central server to handheld.
• Creation of need based applications and backward integration with existing system.
• The solution proposed built on RDBMS SQL-Server platform with software to store signature and photographs in digital format.
• Capture the entire data from RTO on license/vehicles information.
• Provide a central server at traffic headquarters.
• The system will be designed with in-built securities like authorization at various levels.
• Provide connectivity between RTO and central server for daily update of license/vehicle info.
• Provide communication/ application software to transfer data from central server to divisional offices/RTO’s/handheld computer and vice versa.

Traffic Laws enforced to prevent rules and violations to prevent road accidents such as special detection teams, motorcycle patrol, and night operations units are deployed to conduct operations to detect the following:

• Excessive Speeding.
• Driving under the influence of Alcohol.
• Dangerous and reckless driving.
• Driving without lights at night.
• Driving without license etc.
• Traffic officers deployed at junctions to do duties to control traffic congestion specially during peak hours
